About Us

Causeway Work Centre is an Ottawa-based charitable organization that has supported individuals facing barriers to employment and community participation since 1977. Our mission is to empower people experiencing mental health challenges, disabilities, poverty, and other barriers by creating opportunities for meaningful employment, personal growth, and greater independence.

Our Employment Resource Centre provides individualized employment support, including career exploration, résumé development, job search assistance, interview preparation, and connections to employers.

A key component of our model is our social enterprises, which operate as revenue-generating businesses while creating paid employment and skills development opportunities. Causeway Community Services provides commercial cleaning, landscaping, and property maintenance, while our Needle Hunters program delivers community needle collection services.

Through initiatives such as TradeLink, we also work with employers and community partners to create employment pathways in sectors such as construction and skilled trades.

Our Wellness Centre complements these services by offering fitness, recreation, and social opportunities that promote physical and mental well-being, reduce isolation, and strengthen community connections.

By integrating employment services, social enterprises, wellness programming, and community partnerships, Causeway creates sustainable pathways to economic independence and social inclusion while contributing to a stronger Ottawa community.
