Kichesippi means “The Great River”. Prior to 1855, when the City of Ottawa was founded, the river that ran through the city was known as the Kichesippi. That river has been an integral part of the history of Ottawa and Eastern Ontario for many years and since the company is strongly associated with the City of Ottawa, found that it related to them as well.
